Don't mess with asbestos...
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that is carcinogenic and can cause serious health problems for people who are exposed to it, especially via inhalation. Asbestos was once a common material used in construction due to its durability, heat resistance and insulating properties.
It is important that asbestos abatement be done carefully and professionally. Here at KMB, our trained, certified workers will place containment barriers around the site to protect your family and others’ safety. We will dispose of all affected materials safely according to EPA and OSHA rules and regulations.
Plan will detail on how the affected areas will be treated including the preparation and cleanup process.
Clearly marking the hazardous area and informing all parties to leave the area until completion and clearance testing has been performed.
CONTACT USAir ducts will be sealed; HVAC system will be disable and any areas not being treated will be securely sealed off with containment along with placement of air scrubbers and filtration.
Our specialists will remove the material which will be placed into waste disposal bags, sealed and removed through a decontamination chamber designed with a protective lining. Our technicians are required to wear protective clothing and respirators.
Special vacuums with HEPA filtration will be used to minimize the spreading of asbestos fibers during the work and for cleaning of all surfaces.
Once all the materials have been removed and all work area have been fully cleaned & HEPA vacuumed, a post testing clearance testing will be performed.
After the post testing clearance testing, the abatement decontamination chamber will be removed from the home.
Not all old houses contain asbestos. If your house was built before the 1980’s it has a higher chance of containing asbestos materials like flooring, walls, roofing, siding, and insulation.
A health risk only exists when the fibers are released from the material and are present in the air for people to breathe.
Do not disturb the material in any way. Avoid cleaning fallen materials. Contact a qualified professional to evaluate the materials and recommend the proper course of action.
